The two subspecies of Crocus goulimyi represent populations from different parts of the Peloponnese. The principal difference is in flower colour, subspecies goulimyi being primarily lilac while subspecies leucanthus is white or very pale lilac. The cultivar ‘Mani White’ pictured below is a clone of subspecies goulimyi which arose in cultivation and has proved as vigorous and easy to propagate as the lilac forms.
